The Spectrum reserves the right to report on other incidents at the editors' discretion. St. George Police Department Santiago T. Tonatiuh, 18, of St. George was arrested Saturday on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended or revoked license and reckless driving.

He was released from Purgatory Correctional Facility on $2,355 bail. OBITUARIES Hazel Bringhurst TOQUER-VILLE Hazel Eagar Bringhurst, 96, returned home to her Heavenly Father Saturday, May 22, 1999, at the Zion Health Care Center in Hurricane. She was born Dec. 12, 1902, in Colonia Morales. Mexico, to Joel Sixtus Eagar and Nancy Alice Stanworth Eagar.

They left Mexico when Hazel was almost 9 years old and went to Woodruff, Ariz. There they took a train to Lund, Utah, where wagons were waiting for them and took them to Hurricane, where some of Hazel's brothers and family members lived. She lived there until she married. Hazel was educated, in Hurricane and graduated there. After graduation she started working for Jim Judd in his drug store.

While there she learned to mix all the medicine's and everything else that had to be done. She married Leland Howard Bringhurst April 5, 1923. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple Feb. 4, 1926.

He preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1975. Hazel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the presidency of the Relief Society and MIA, and taught most of the classes in primary. She was a visiting teacher until she was unable to go.

Hazel had 11 children, but is survived by just five of them: Mona (Clark) Olds and Howard (Anita) Bringhurst of Toquerville, Norene (Lyman) Gubler, Roxie (Richard) Beaumont of LaVerkin, Dola (Bud) Dalton of St. George; 23 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Ella Eagar Gardner of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her husband and six children: Alice May. The family expresses their appreciation to Zion Health Care Center for the care and love given to Hazel Karl Tufts Karl Edward Tufts, 83, was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Maineville, Ohio, to Albert Shrogg Tufts and Bessie Mae Skinner. He died May 22, 1999, at his home in Sandy from natural causes.

He married Mabel May Jan. 27, 1947, in Las Vegas. The marriage was solemnized in the Provo Temple June 23, 1973. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mabel; children: Frosty, Lee, Morris, Sharen (Twin), Karen (Twin), Karl (Duke) Lois; 31 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren, Karl and Mabel have spent their winters in St.

George for the last 14 years. There he could play the game he loved, golf, year round. He was an active member of the LDS church. He owned and operated Rocky Mountain Pools in Sandy for 30 years. He loved his family, and we'll miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Rim LDS Ward, 1050 E. Galena will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 S. State and Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be in Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Everett Hadley ST. GEORGE Everett Milton Hadley, 83, passed away May 22, 1999, in St. George Care Center. He was the son of Robert and Martha Hadley, born June 23, 1915, in Lokeba, Okla.

Everett's family moved to San Bernardino, when he was 8 years old. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Riverside, where Everett lived until 1 984. 1 I. He is also survived by two step-children: Paul Dennis of Fort Collins, and Michelle Williams of Vacaville, Calif. His stepgrandchildren include David and Danielle Dennis and Andria Williams. Everett is survived by his beloved sister, Juanita Niemi, of Riverside, Calif.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Martha Hadley, and by his brother, Herbert Hadley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Spilsbury Beard Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, in St. George.

Friends may call 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be Wednesday in the Crestlawn Memorial Park, Riverside, under the direction of Spilsbury Beard Mortuary, St. George, 673-2454. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 64421 St.

Paul, MN, 55164-9355. David Chidester LINDON -David Terry Chidester, 84, of Lindon passed away Saturday, May 22, 1999, at his home. He was born March 13, 1915, in Venice, Sevier County, to James Madison and Cornelia Terry Chidester. He married Carol Abraham on Aug. 23, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He grew up in Delta and attended school there. His family later moved to Salt Lake, where he completed his education. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific. He worked as a carpenter his entire life. After retirement he served an LDS mission with his wife, Carol, to the Tennessee Nashville Mission.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; and six children: Dennis Chidester of Lindon, Laurel Ortez of St. George, Paul Chidester of Henderson, David Chidester of West Valley, Todd Chidester of American Fork, Jonathan Chidester of McAlester, 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include his brother, Eldon Chidester; and two sisters: Connie Moore and Lois Salmans. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Jones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at 11 a.m.

George and Michelle Jeffery of LaVerkin Everett served on the island of Puerto Rico during World War II. After the war Everett served his career at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, Calif. Everett was actively involved in the development of the guidance systems for the Atlas and Titan missile programs. He received a Presidential Citation from President Johnson for his work and achievements with the missile program. Everett was appointed by a special congressional committee to serve as the chief electronics engineer and educator for the C-141 airplane.

Everett served in this capacity until his retirement in 198Q. In 1984, Everett married Helen Rae Dennis, and moved to St. George. There, he continued his lifelong dedication to knowledge and learning. Everett had always been interested in astronomy and intrigued by theories on the creation of the universe.

Everett explored his own ideas on the creation of the universe, and wrote a thesis to explain and develop his theories. He presented these theories in a series of lectures at Dixie College. For his work, Everett was presented with an honorary degree from Dixie College in 1993. Everett's hobbies and interests were many. He served as assistant scoutmaster for Riverside Troop 14.

He later served as head scoutmaster for Riverside Troop 2 from 1976 through 1980. Both of his sons, David and Derryl, received their Eagle Scout badges under Everett's leadership. Everett loved all of nature, and especially enjoyed wilderness areas. He loved to backpack and camp in the high Sierras, and he climbed to the top of Mount Whitney on several occasions. Everett was particularly fond of hiking in Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon.

He enjoyed boating at Lake Powell. Everett was an avid rock collector. He loved to go to the desert to look for unusual rocks. He belonged to the St. George Rock Club for several years.

Another major hobby for Everett was art. He expressed himself with a wide array of mediums. He was multi-talented and painted with oils and acrylics, did beautiful stained glass work, and polished stones to make jewelry. Another one of Everett's loves was gardening. Everett's green thumb could turn a desert into an oasis.

He created colorful and magnificent yards for his family to enjoy. His favorite flowers were roses and dahlias. Everett had a special love for wildlife, and was especially fond of birds. He raised doves for many years. Everett is survived by his wife, Helen Rae Hadley of St.

George, who faithfully and unfalteringly served him in his final years of gle with the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease. He is also survived by his three children, who love him with all their hearts, will deeply miss him, and feel blessed to have had him for their father: David Hadley of Woodinville, Carol Ca Cc Your Friends, Your Neighbors.
