LOCAL The Spectrum Wednesday, June 7, 2000 A5 Galovan ST. GEORGE Thomas Peter Galovan, 58, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at his home in St. George of complications of diabetes. He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Theodore Edward Galovan and Marie Rose Eva "Gail" Legault Galovan: He married Tonna Marie Hyde Dec.

5, 1980, in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. Peter was active in sports at Weber High School in Ogden. After graduation he attended Weber College. He served an LDS mission building church houses in France and Belgium.

Peter served as a paratrooper in the Utah National Guard for a time. Later he served in the Salt Lake Temple Baptistry. He served in many teaching and leadership positions in the LDS Church. He served as church custodian in Ephraim for six years. Peter volunteered time at IHC Hospice until his health declined.

He enjoyed most of all spending time with his children and would write them letters when he could not be with them. He is survived by his children: Heather Marie (18), Adam Michael (17) and Rachel Ann (15) of Washington; his father: Ted Galovan of St. George; brothers: Jim (Marty) Galovan of Plymouth, and Ted (Cheryl) Galovan of Denver; and a sister: Carol Hokanson of Denver. He was preceded in death by his mother: Gail Galovan. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2000, at 3 p.m.

at the Washington 11th Ward LDS Chapel, 650 E. Telegraph in Washington. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery, under the direction of Spilsbury Beard Mortuary, 673- 2454.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Peter's memory to IHC Hospice, care of Dixie Regional Medical Center Health Care Foundation, 544 S. 400 West, St. George, UT 84770. Antone Terry ST. GEORGE Antone V.

Terry, 84, of Nampa, Idaho, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Nampa hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30. a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2000, at the Sunnyridge LDS Chapel, 3015 Sunnyridge Road, Nampa, with Bishop Scott McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, Idaho.

Antone was born May 14, 1918, in Mesquite to Edward S. and Florence (Woodbury) Terry. When he was young, the family moved to St. George, where he was raised. He met Marian Linge in Mesquite, and they were married on Oct.

13, 1945, in Las Vegas. Their marriage was later solemnized at the St. George LDS Temple. They moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1951 where they have lived since. He worked for Amalgamated Sugar for 28 years.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two missions in Oklahoma and in northern New Mexico. He also enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed being together with them. Antone is survived by his wife: Marian of Nampa; his children: Mary Lynne (LaVar) Spencer of Kaysville, David (Rose) Terry of Nampa, Elaine (Archie) Hoxsie of Nampa, Donna (Dennis) Carrell of Middleton, JoAnn (Kevin) Nelson of Kearns; 26 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister: Hanna (Oral) Covington of Cedar City; brothers: Ezra (Jeanen) Terry of Salt Lake City, LaMar (Rhodell) Terry, currently serving a mission in Japan, Dean (Carol), Terry of St.

George; sister-inlaw: Barbara Terry of Monterey Park, and many other family members. He was preceded in death by two sons: Keith and Verl Terry, two brothers: Sirls and Vivian Terry; and a sister, Norma Porter. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

on Wednesday at Alsip Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at the church. GEORGE Our beloved mother and grandmother, Edna Eliza Porter Little, passed away peacefully the evening of May 31, 2000. She was born May 29, 1908, to William Ira and Zina Porter in Porterville. Edna married George R. Little, who preceded her in death, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 16, 1938. They lived and worked in Morgan, before moving to Oregon, where they raised their family.

Edna and George retired to Mesa, in 1970, and moved to St. George 10 years ago. Edna was an excellent seamstress, kept detailed journals of their travels, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed her grandchildren, who loved her nursery rhymes and stories. She always found ways to serve others. Edna is survived by her children: Larry (Claudia) Little of LaHabra, Douglas (Marilee) Little of Ivins and Pamela (Richard) Christensen of Columbus, Ohio, currently serving an LDS Mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister: Areta Rushforth, of Centerville; and a brother: Leland (Beth) Porter, of Bountiful.

Four sisters and a brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Friday, June 9, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 300 W. St. George Blvd.

A visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary. 435-673-4221. Eva Hall Lavern Hansen Hall, 84, of Orem and ORE GEORGE Eva St.

George died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at the East Lake Care Center in Provo. She was born April 11, 1916, in Ephraim, a daughter of Hans T. and Inger Lavern Whitlock Hansen. She graduated from Ephraim High School attended Snow College. She married Kenneth R.

Hall Dec. 17, 1937, in the Manti LDS Temple. She was a ceramics and porcelain instructor for many years and taught in her home and at BYU. She enjoyed her family, gardening, painting and travel. She was a beautiful seamstress.

She was active in the LDS Church and served in Primary and Relief DEATH NOTICES Ethel Robertson ST. GEORGE Ethel Mima Robertson, 7 76, died June 3, 2000, in St. George. She was born June 3, 1924. Ethel is survived by two children: Duane T.

Robertson of Colorado Springs, and Nancy L. Keller of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2000, in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 300 W. St.

She served with her husband as stake missionary and also fulfilled a mission to the Louisville Kentucky area. She was proud of her pioneer heritage and surrounded herself with many good friends. Service was her middle name and she will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include her husband: Ken of Orem and St. George; children: Thomas (Karla) Hall of Morgan Hill, John (Judy) Hall of St.

George and Karma (Larry) Collins of Orem; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Braithwaite of Ephraim and Carla Whiting of Orem; and brother: Oris Hansen of Roy. She was preceded in death by a brother: Walter Hansen; and baby daughter: SueLynn. Services were held June 5, 2000, at the Elk Ridge Chapel in Elk Ridge. Burial was in the Ephraim City Cemetery. We ex express gratitude to the loving staff at Porter's Nursing Home for their compassionate care this past winter.

Patricia Martensen SANTA CLARA Patricia "Patti" Jane Martensen, 62, passed away June 4, 2000, at her home in Santa Clara after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born June 5, 1937, in Santa Monica, to Edgar and Gladys Coffman. She married Dean Martensen Nov. 21, 1969. Most of Patti's working years were spent in the electronics industry and in retail merchandising.

She was a very loving and caring person, and was especially proud of the accomplishments of her sons and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, traveling, hiking, golfing and tending her flower garden, especially her roses. To all the family and friends who knew and loved Patti, please know that her charm, sense of humor, wit and beautiful smile were there until the very end. A special thanks to the doctors from the pain Management Clinic at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, and also to the personnel of Gentiva Health Services in Salt Lake City and St.

George. Their concern, care and support helped to make things easier during some difficult times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 935 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84102, or to the American Cancer Society, 941 E. 3300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.

Patti is survived by her parents: Edgar and Gladys Coffman of St. George; her husband: Dean Martensen; four sons: Michael of Pueblo West, Ronald of Iligan City, The Philippines, and Steven of San. Jose, a stepson: Kirby of San Francisco; two sisters: Sue Lauman of Las Vegas and Gail Monroy of Upland, four granddaughters: Miranda, Michelle. Charlette and Paige; and three grandsons: Kenny, Mathew and Sean. According to Patti's wishes, she will cremated.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2000, at 10 a.m. at the Spilsbury Beard Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff in St. George. Arrangements are under 1 the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 673-2454.
