Obituaries Charles Iliff Andrus Funeral services were held for Charles Iliff Andrus, age 64, Saturday, at 10 a.m. in the St. George 3rd LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. Mr. Andrus, a native of southern Utah, died Feb.

12, 1976 in the St. George Medical Center of complications following surgery. He was born March 28. 1911 in St. George, Utah to Charles Andrus and Rose Elizabeth Turner Andrus.

He married Vivian Leavitt January 5, 1935 in St. George, the marriage later solemized in the St. George Temple. Mr. Andrus was a farmer, rancher and cattleman in southern Utah, and was an active member of the LDS Church, having served si in two bishoprics, and was a high priest in the St.

George 3rd Ward. He was a past member of the St. George Lions Club, and a past member of the Washington Canal Fields Board. He was a supporter of youth and was active in the Boy Scouts of America. Survivors are wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters: Charles Lee Andrus, Dayton, Ohio; George Iliff Andrus, St.

George, Mrs. John Edward "Diane" Harper, Hunter, Morris LaVon Bird Morris LaVon Bird, 72, died Feb. 13, 1976 in the Dixie Medical Center at St. George, following a lingering, 3, illness. 1904 Mr.

in Bird Gunnison, was Sanpete County, Utah, the son of Harry and Edna Gribble Bird. He married Althea Dix and was later divorced. In Feb. 16, 1948, he married Thelma Taylor in Pioche, this marriage later solemized in the St. George LDS Temple.

Mr. Bird had lived in Milford as a young man, moving to Caliente-Pioche later, Las Vegas, Nevada, coming to St. George in 1973. He had worked for the railroad but for many years he had been employed as a meat cutter. Ids church, he had served as ward clerk for over 17 years and also served in the bishopric.

His hobby was gardening. Survivors include his wife of St. George; a son, Ted Bird of Henderson, Nevada, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Homer "Carol" Englstead of Henderson, and Mrs. Lester "Donna" Cannon of Las Vegas, Nv.

Two stepchildren, Mrs. Lewis "Janet" Rollins of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Elton Bartlett of Spanaway, Washington; 27 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Rulon Bird of Ogden and Donald Bird of Salt Lake City; 5 sisters: Mrs. Melvin "Ardith" Miller. Mrs. Owen "Helen" Champneys, both of Salt Lake City, Mrs.

Elma Hardy of Cedar City, Mrs. Robert "Verna" Tomsik of Milford, and Mrs. Vance "Louella" Fisher of Woodland, Calif. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the St.

George East Stake Center with Bishop Jerry Lewis of the 12th Ward officiating. Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under direction of Metcalf Mortuary. Israel Hiram Lamb Israel Hiram Lamb, 91, longtime St. George resident, died in the Boulder City, Nevada hospital on Feb.

11, 1976 of causes incident to age. Mr. Lamb was born Aug. 20, 1884 in Orderville, Utah, the son of Edward and Sarah Deseret Meeks Lamb. He married Phoebe Elena Covington Dec.

7, 1905 in the St. George LDS Temple. Shel died Dec. 2, 1963, Mr. Lamb was reared in Enterprise and spent some time working as a miner in Pioche, but most of his life was spent as a farmer.

He came to St. George in 1947 and served for 18 years as a temple ordinance worker. He is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters: Justin of Santquin, Utah; Weldon Kay and Heber both of Henderson. Nevada. Mrs.

Carl "Thora" Crawford Orem, Utah, Mrs. Delmer "Ilene" Gray of Minersvile, Utah, and Mrs. Robert "Orilla" Hammond of Pioche, Nevada; 28 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren. 4 brothers and 6 sisters; Edward of Mt. Carmel, Utah; Merrill Roland of Orderville, Utah; Earl of Vale, Oregon; Mrs.

Till Blackburn of Orderville; Mrs. Andrew "Mary" Laub of Santa Clara, Utah, Mrs. William "Deseret" Bauer of Enterprise, Utah, Mrs. Tom "Libbie" Clarey of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Fred "Rose" Fredricks of Skatka, Washington, and Mrs.

Virgie Norby of Arlington, Washington. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, 1976 in the St. George First Ward with Bishop C. Ward Despain officiating.

Interment was in the Enterprise City Cemetery under direction of Metcalf Mortuary. Carl Miles Mathis services for Carl Miles George 5th Ward. He was a past age 75, were held member of the St. George Lions Feb. 17, 1976 at 2 p.m.
