He was born Jan. 27, 1906 in Kimberly, Utah to Elias A. and Pernellie Emily Jones Strong. He married Irma H. Thorpe Oct.

28. 1948 in Blue Island, HI. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt. Lake IDS Temple. She preceded him in death Jan.

8, 1987. His early years were spent in Kimberly, a small town near Provo, and he later moved to Washington Gty where he worked at the Cotton Mill. He attended college in Chicago and was employed by Illinois Bell as an electrical engineer for 42 years. After retirement in 1969, he moved to Bloomington and built a home. He was an active member of the IDS Church, serving as a high priest, high councilman and in many other positions.

He assisted the Southwest Symphony with lighting for performances, and enjoyed reading about and building in the electrical, mechanical and carpentry fields. Survivors include three sons and one daughter, Tom Coles of Arkansas; Mrs. Martin (Geraldine) ST.
