This began his passion for retail. Hurst Ace Hardware has grown to a small chain of five Ace Hardware stores. Ross was unapologetic of being one of the few democrats in Washington County. Ross loved Dixie and served faithfully in the community in various positions. Ross loved playing the piano and singing with his family.

He and his Mom played duets throughout his life. Ross loved to travel and he and Julie experienced many cul and Susan Houston. John graduated from Cedar City High School. He attended Southern Utah University and later attended school in Ohio and graduated in arborist studies. John loved the out doors and spent his free time hunting, fishing, trapping and being with his family.

John is survived by his father Dennis Houston, his brother Tyler Houston, grandparents Herman and Margaret Houston and Elaine Cantrell. He is preceded in death by his mother Susan Houston. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary, 300 West 190 North, Cedar City, Utah. An Open visitation will be held on the same day from Noon to 1 :00 p.m.

at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be made at www. sumortuary.com. Richard Sagi 1948-2010 Rick was born the 2nd child of 4 to Ste phen and Lois (Deet) Sagi in Pittsburgh, PA on September 8, 1948.

He passed peacefully into God's love on June 11, 2010 at age 61, from complications of kidney failure. Rick served in the navy from 1965-1969 with tours in Vietnam, Hawaii, Japan, and Guam. He was proud to be a Vietnam Vet. He met Valerie Breneman at the Century Drive-in in Ingle-wood, CA when they were teenagers and they married January 10, 1970, making their home in southern California until 6 yrs ago. For 40 yrs they were best friends and partners.

Rick's Catholic upbringing taught him strong personal values. In his younger days Rick enjoyed bowling, golfing, target and skeet shooting, and restoring antique cars. He was involved with his family in scouting, dirt bike racing, trout fishing, and camping. He loved cooking breakfast, baking cookies, playing cards, growing tomatoes, bird watching, playing Texas Tea slots in Las Vegas, traveling, fixing anything, and shopping with his wife. Rick loved to crack jokes and that sense of humor continued throughout his illness.

John Ross Hurst John Ross Hurst, 67 passed away June 16, 2010, in St. George, Utah. He was born August 29, 1942, in Provo, Utah, to Beth Bruhn Hurst and John Tippitts Hurst. He married Julia Ann Terry on September 18, 1965, in the St George Temple. Ross spent his formative years in, Panguitch, Utah, after which he moved to St George, with his family.

They opened Hurst Variety on the corner of Tabernacle and Main St. He enjoyed his high school years and became known for his dark glasses, his rock and roll piano and southpaw pitching arm. After graduating from High School he attended Dixie College and worked summers at Bryce Canyon Park. He loved the parks of Southern Utah and explored them throughout his life. Ross served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called to the West Central States Mission.

He loved golfing with friends and family, fishing anywhere in Garfield County, and discussing the gospel and politics with friends and family. Ross loved life and all it had to offer.

His greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren, wife Julie and the gospel. Ross is survived by his wife Julia Hurst of St George, UT; and his six children, Robin Faldmo (David Faldmo) Sioux City, IA, Jason Ross Hurst (Nicole Carter Hurst) St George, UT, Jared Ross Hurst St George, UT, Justin Ross Hurst (Amanda Meeks Hurst), Rebecca Campbell (Patrick Campbell) Salt Lake City, Suzanne Stewart (Jeremy Stewart) Washington D.C.; and seven grandsons and six granddaughters with one on the way. Ross was preceded in death by his mother and father Beth Bruhn Hurst John Tippitts Hurst. The family would like to thank all the dedicated and skilled staff at the Dixie Regional Medical Center who worked so hard on behalf of our beloved father and husband. Johnathon E. Houston -DAR CITY Johnathon Edward Houston, 26, passed away suddenly at his Salt Lake City residence on June 10, 2010. He was born in Kemmerer, Wyoming on July 5, 1983 to Dennis Garth Spendlove Garth Spendlove, formerly of Hurricane, passed away June 8, at his home in Salt Lake City. He was born -f Barbour Barbour N. Ginn, 93 years of age, a resident of Hurricane, died Saturday, May 29, 2010.

He was born October Ginn 1, 1916 in Charters, KY to William and Bessie Ginn. He is survived by a daughter, Saundra Gail Carrington McGinnis, a granddaughter, Nita Brown, great grandsons, Waylon James Hastings, 20 and Taylor Robert Dooley, 14, all of Boerne, TX. He is also survived by his wife, Ann Ginn. Saundra is the daughter of a previous marriage to Nita Gail Carrington of Charters, KY. Steele F.

Henrie A GUITCH -Steele Francis Henrie, 88, passed away June 9, 2010 at his home in Pan guitch. He was born November 29, 1921 in Suther land, Utah, to Edgar A and Francis Fern Steele Henrie. He married Ireta Slater, May 15, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death March 31 2002. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his family.

Farming was an important part of his life, he also worked at Ki-abab Industries for over 30. He worked hard, and when he had time he played hard. He was an avid Jazz fan, a hunter and a fisherman. Steele served in the Navy during WWII. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving where ever he was called.

He is survived by children, Vaughn (Dulva) Henrie, Fremont, California; Pamela (Ronald) Jacob-son, Cedar City; Marianne (Richard) Crofts, and Marilyn (Craig) Twitch-ell, both of Panguitch; Tracy (Juliann) Henrie, Cedar City; 21 grandchildren and Death Notices Feb. 9, 1929, to Whitney and Beth Spendlove, in Hurricane. 26, 2003. Fred traveled a great deal with his father during WWII and settled in California in 1950. He loved his occupation as a cross country truck driver. Fred moved to Kanab in 1980. He loved the outdoors and fishing.

Fred is survived by his mother, Marie Marshall, Lancaster, CA; children, Christopher (Kathy) Marshall, Torrance, CA; Emili Marshall, Kanab, UT; Re-bekah (Rocky) Herbert, Simi Valley, CA. She was born July 13, 1923. She is survived by her brother Alan (Virginia) Davis and her nephews and nieces, Gary Davis, Brian Davis, Bill Davis, Susan Bailey, Jack Davis, Warren Davis, and Karen Davis. Per Rick's wishes there will be a private memorial with family and friends. Arlene Hinton Campbell Ward Arlene Ward, age 64, died June 10, 2010, in St. George, Utah. She was born February 21, 1946, in Hur ricane, Utah, to John Merrill Hinton and Hilma Wright. Her father, Merrill Hinton died when she was three years old.

Her mother, Hilma, married Keith M. Campbell who raised Arlene as his own daughter. Arlene attend Hurricane High School and made many friends and has kept in touch with many of them over the years. In 1964, shortly after graduation from high school, Arlene was swept off her feet by a young Navy officer named Fred E. Ward.

On January 3, 1965, they were married. To this marriage three beautiful daughters blessed their home: Angie, Jodi, and Shayna. Fred later died of cancer. To provide for her girls, Arlene went back to school and became a registered nurse, earning a Bachelors Degree. After graduating from school, Arlene worked for many years at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

She especially enjoyed her time in the Emergency room where her angelic heart and hands helped to heal all that she came in contact with. Chronic Arthritis forced her to retire from nursing and this was a very hard and emotional time for her, but being a strong spirit, she immersed herself in her family and genealogy; filling many filing cabinets and bookshelves with family information on all of the different families that molded El fount oih Drnl J34S.
