OBITUARIES Verna Haycock Clark Cedar City, Utah Verna Haycock Clark passed away on March 10, 2016 in the age of 90. Verna is survived by her children: Karen of Cedar City, John of Hawaii, Judy of Madera, Susan of Cedar City, Seth of Cedar City, Mary of Oregon and Barbara of Kamas; 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Clark, son Jerry Allan, her five siblings: Noreen, Kay, Laverle, Bill and Ronald. A memorial service will be held on March 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 300 Cedar City, UT). Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.

Verna was an active member in the LDS 3rd Ward on Midvalley Road. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Upon her return to Cedar City in 1998, she volunteered at the Valley View Hospital snack bar and at the Cedar City Animal Rescue where she enjoyed taking care of the cats and kittens. She was an active bowler on two leagues until Judith S. Elliston St.

Wehner. She has five siblings: Francis Wehner (deceased), Rosemary Wehner (Ward), Thomas Wehner, Suzanne Wehner (Ciaglo) and Dennis Wehner. Judith attended Carnegie Institute of Medical Technology and worked in the medical field throughout her life. She married Robert J. Elliston in 1962.

She is survived by her two children: Christine Elliston (Errett) and John Elliston; and two grandchildren: Danielle and Alexsis. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. George Catholic Church located at 259 West 200 North.

Alanya is our superhero. Alanya is survived by her parents; brothers Jove Rion Thompson and Markus Gabriel Thompson; sister Chloe Violet Thompson; grandparents Valorie Black, Virginia Szentimrey, and Chuck Thompson, all of St. George, UT. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her from all over the world. She is preceded in death by grandfather Mark Alan Black; and great grandparents Joan and Vernon Hughes, and Ruth and Roger Osness.

The family wishes to thank the many people at Ronald McDonald House, and the doctors, nurses, and technicians at Primary Children's Hospital for the great love, support and care that Alanya received during her treatments over the past two years. Funeral services will be Monday, March 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St, St. George, Utah. Visitation and viewing will be at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on the same day and place.
