A4 i SPECTRUM DAILY NEWS 1939 2014 75 YEARS Dignity Trust Our sweet, petite, and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother passed away on July 3, 2014. Colleen was born February 17, 1930 in Parowan, Utah to John Taylor and Cora Dean Mickelson. Colleen grew up in Parowan, as a young girl she traveled to various states with her parents during the summers where her father would shear sheep. She had fond memories of her teenage years where she worked at several of the National Parks during the summer. After High School, Colleen moved to Salt Lake City and would Nanny to put herself through school at Stevens Henager Business College.

She was married to Kent W. Lister on June 23, 1950. They had four children and enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage. They lived in Cedar City until 1967 and then relocated to Salt Lake for job. Colleen and Kent loved to Square Dance and were members of the Rocketeers Square Dance Club.

They had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the Country. She was an excellent seamstress. She would spend hours making curtains, doll cloths, and dance costumes for her daughters. Colleen loved attending musicals and plays and going out for a sweet treat after. She was a member of the LDS church where she served teaching primary and cub scouts.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents John and Cora, sister Helen, and brothers Jay Dee and Gordan. She is survived by her husband Kent four children Gregory (Wendy) Lister Michael (Sue) Lister Jackie (Jon) Huish and LeeAnn (Scott) Larsen, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A Viewing was held Sunday July 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, UT 84120. Interment and graveside services were held at the Cedar City Cemetery on Monday July 7th at 2:00 pm. www.valleyviewfu- neral.com Colleen Mickelson Lister West Valley, Utah Geraldine Dalton Excell, 83 passed away on July 4th, 2014 at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Geraldine was born on September 16, 1930 in Ely Nevada to Jacob Hazel Dalton. She was raised in Rockville Utah and graduated high school at Hurricane High. Geraldine found the love of her life and married Ward Excell in Las Vegas Nevada on September 16th, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George LDS Temple on April 15th, 1960. Following their marriage, Ward Geraldine lived in Springdale, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Yellowstone National Following retiring from the National Park Service, they returned to Springdale to be closer Geraldine Dalton Excell to Springdale to be closer to their families.

Following death, Geraldine served a mission for the LDS Church in Oklahoma, following her mission she moved to Hurricane. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Ward. She is survived by her children Mike (Ann), Tom (Marla), DiAnn (Neil), and Lynn (Kathy) all living in the Hurricane Valley; 13 Grandchildren; and 36 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Hurricane Stake Center located at 677 700 Hurricane, Utah, a viewing will be held prior the service from 9:30 to 10:30.

Interment will be in the Springdale City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McMillan Mortuary 435-688-8880. Condolences may be shared at mcmillanmortuary.com Janet Judd, 65, died peacefully Friday, June 12, 2014 in Kernersville, North Carolina. She retired in 2008 as an Assistant Vice President in Training and Development for World Savings and Loan in San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by the love of her life, Terry Jenkings of Sydney, Australia; sister Jacqueline Judd and her husband John Papanek of New York City; sister Joni Judd and her husband Lou Hess of Jupiter, FL; nieces, great niece and great nephews.

Friends and family are invited to offer their condolences at www.spilsburymor- tuary.com Janet Judd Kernersville, North Carolina Lorna Johnson, 85, the best wife, mother, auntie, grandma, great- grandma and friend that anyone could ask for went out with a bang on the 4th of July, 2014. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born July 19, 1928 in Salt Lake City to Victor and Lorna Johnson. She married Chester Lamar Johnson and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Vernie was a krecracker. She will be remembered fondly for her sense of humor, beautiful voice and her love of life. Words cannot express our depth of gratitude for her injuence in our lives. She loved us and we knew it! We knd comfort in knowing that she is still close and that we will continue to feel her injuence in our lives. She is survived by her children Randy (Pam) Johnson and Tana (Daryl) Warden, Sister Sharon (Bill) Moore, 11 cherished Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren.

A celebration of her life for immediate family and friends and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Valley View Memorial Park, with a viewing at 10:00 at Valley View Funeral Home, located at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. Condolences may be shared at mcmillanmortuary.com Lorna Johnson St. George Mary Evlyn McMillan Hummel passed away peacefully in her home in Richkeld, on July 6, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born March 4, 1923 in Sigurd, Utah to John Brown and Anna Lucile Crane McMillan.

Mary was their only child and dearly beloved daughter. Mary grew up and attended elementary school in Sigurd and secondary school in Richkeld. Mary graduated from Richkeld High School in 1941 where she was active in speech, drama and dance. Mary attended Scripts College in California and the University of Utah. She graduated from the of with honors in 1945.

Mary married the love of her life, Clarence Floyd Hummel, with whom she spent 58 years creating happy memories together. They were married on December 22, 1956 in Price, Utah. Mary began her teaching career at Ashman Elementary school in Richkeld and later taught school in Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Delaware, Iowa and Texas. She returned to knish her teaching career in Richkeld. She retired after 31 years of teaching in 1987.

Mary taught every grade except kindergarten and knished her teaching career in English, speech and charm. Thousands of students came to love and felt of her love and concern for them. interest in children and education was life long. Mary loved writing and participated in the Utah Writing Projects in Cedar City and Logan. Mary was a brilliant writer; she wrote hundreds of personalized poems in which she eulogized friends and strengthened their families with her words.

After retiring from teaching, Mary worked as a consultant for Sevier School District, Utah State University and the Utah State Ofkce of Education. Although she loved teaching, greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband, Floyd and leaves a tremendous legacy through her children: Becky (Craig) Ross, Richkeld; Jacky Ferrell (Terry Mascher), St. George; John (Sheila) Hummel, St. George; and Mac (Kamie) Hummel, Tulsa, OK.

She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great- great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Hanna. Mary was happiest when she was surrounded by her loving family. Each of her children and grandchildren remember how difkcult it was for her to say goodbye. compassion and love touched many generations of students; her inju- ence will stretch into the eternities.

Mary was deeply loved and will be forever remembered. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Magleby Mortuary, Richkeld. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from p.m. and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:3010:30 a.m.

Mary Hummel RichMeld, Utah Paul Walker Stevens, age 67, passed away at his home, July 3, 2014 after a brief battle from cancer.

He was born October 8, 1946 in St. George, Utah to Charles Alma and Mary Walker Stevens and was the 10th of 12 children. Paul married Gay Lynne Goodrich on April 7, 1966. She died June 3, 2000. He married Penny Nelson on November 17, 2001.

Paul was raised in St. George and in his teenage years he moved to Salt Lake City to work but Paul lived most of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada before retiring to St. George in January of 2011. He worked in the Steel industry in Las Vegas for many years and had many hobbies and talents, including building race cars, deep-sea kshing, panning for gold, wood-working and riding four-wheelers. Paul loved to travel and he enjoyed spending the past few summers out of the heat and riding the dunes on the coast of Oregon.

Paul served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather and friend. Survived by his wife, Penny; children, Wade (Delkna) Stevens, Larraine (Leonard) Faircloth, Phillip (Kelly) Stevens, Shannon (Lucas) Erickson, Mindy (Randy) Greenback, Grant (Alexis) Stevens, Kami (Shawn) Saunders; stepchildren, Janice (Stacey) Millett, Amber Langston, Brandon (Tiffany) Nelson, Clint (Jessica) Nelson, Derrick (Jackie) Nelson and Shon Nelson; four-wheeling buddy, James Langston; siblings, Lowell (Afton) Stevens, Easton (Peggy) Stevens, June Robison, Sharon Wetzel, Raphael (Karen) Stevens, Roseanne (Ed) Crews, sister-in-law, Betty Stevens; mother-in- law, Ramona Carpenter; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dale Stevens, Donald Stevens, Leland Stevens, Raymond (Mary Jane) Stevens, Maralyn (Ron) Greenhalgh; brother-in- law, Lewis Wetzel.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, St. George, UT. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Please go to www.spilsburymortuary. com to sign his online guest book. miss you and Paul Walker Stevens St. George, UT Wanda Hunt Benson, known for her great sense of humor, peacefully passed away at home on July 3, 2014. Wanda was born August 13, 1933, in Cedar City, Utah, to Merlin and Lasca Dorrity Hunt.

She was third of six children and immensely enjoyed her childhood years in Paragonah. Wanda shared many fond memories of her school years and classmates. She attended Paragonah Elementary School, and in 1951, she graduated from Parowan High School. She later attended college in Cedar City, Utah. Wanda married Clarence Jr.

Benson on February 27, 1954, in Paragonah, Utah. Together they raised three children: Deborah Jean Benson of Parowan, Utah; Denise (Ed) Hagman of Herriman, Utah; Patrick (Alana) Benson of Parowan, Utah. Family was of utmost importance to her and building strong relationships with others was her central focus. Her generosity and hospitality was extended to all. house was always open to any who came to visit.

It was not uncommon to have her house klled with friends and laughter. Wanda always extended a helping hand and worried about family, friends, and neighbors alike. Jokingly, Stiff always said that Wanda never met a stranger. Wanda worked at various occupations throughout her life. She worked at Parowan City Ofkce and served as city treasurer for ten years.

She worked for the Utah Driver License Division for kve years. She enjoyed working with the public and she dedicated her life to serving others. In 1981 Stiff and Wanda purchased the Iron County Nursing Home where she began a long career of care taking, service, and compassion. She continued this work until her retirement in 1995. Throughout her married life, Wanda held many church and civic positions.

She was elected to the Parowan City Council, a position she held for eight years. She served on the Parowan City Power Board, Main Street Committee, and Heritage Foundation. Wanda possessed a strong civic duty. Service was important to her. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was instrumental in the mapping of the Parowan Cemetery helping to identify the veterans from World War I to the present. Wanda, with Stiff by her side, decorated the graves on Memorial Day for over 50 years. For her outstanding service, Wanda was recognized as Parowan Citizen of the year in 2010. The highlight of life was being a grandma. She found great joy in spending time with her two grandchildren, Chennin and Shaydon.

She delighted in attending ball games, school functions and any activity in which they were involved. They certainly became her primary focus and she loved to spoil them. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Benson; her three children; two grandchildren. Sisters Larie Tippetts of Arnold, CA; Janet Groskreutz of Dammeron Valley, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Bernell Hunt, LaJean Hunt, and Mildred Workman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:00 AM. An evening viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, from PM. A viewing will precede the service from AM. All services will be at the Parowan 1st Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Paragonah Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.

A special thanks to Janet for her unwavering dedication and love. Wanda Hunt Benson Parowan, Utah Frank Reed Bushar, 85 died at the V.A. Hospital in Loma Linda, California. He was born January 24, 1929 in Enterprise, Utah to Jacob and Hanna (Fish) Bushar.

Frank was the kfth out of eight children. He graduated from Enterprise High school in 1947; he worked at Hill Air Force Base for one year before joining the United States Air Force in 1949. Frank Married Barbra Jean Lehigh in February, 1950. Frank served 30 years in the Air Force as a jight engineer. He retired in 1979 as Chief Master Sargent.

Frank and Barbra settled in San Bernardino, California. Frank took a job working for the state of California, checking the moisture in the orange groves, informing owners when to water their crops. They made San Bernardino their home for the last 48 years. Barbra passed away earlier in 2000. Frank married Jennie Colunga in June 2013.

He was a member of the LDS church. He loved restoring Frank Reed Bushar Enterprise church. He loved restoring old cars. heart was always in Enterprise, He loved what time he could spend there. Frank is survived by his wife Jennie, Son; Jeffery Lynn Bushar, Daniel Bushar, Daughter in Law; Delila Bushar, Grandaughter Dylan Bushar, Sister; Delma (Bob) Paxman, Brother Dean (Ann) Bushar.

Many Nieces, Nephews, and Friends. Frank is preceded in death by his krst wife; Barbra Lehigh Bushar, Son; Steven Father; Jacob Bushar, Mother; Hannah Bushar, three sisters; Josephine Simkins, Zelma Bushar, and Marzina Bushar. Two Brothers; Gregor Bushar Lynn Bushar. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Enterprise Stake Building 80 South Center.

A viewing will be held 10:45 a.m prior to the service also at the church interment will take place in Enterprise City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and hospice at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, California for their dedicated services and kind and loving care.
